One piece of Della Robbia inspired art is missing from the public eye and can only be found in storage at Campus Facilities. The sculpture depicts Tobias (right) and the angel Gabriel (left). This piece was previously hanging next to the door of Meadowlands before the renovation that turned it into the Health Sciences building. The sculpture was taken down prior to the renovation, but has yet to be returned to its place of honor. The subject matter referenced is likely the story of a young Tobias, son of Tobit, being instructed by an angel who he does not recognize as an angel when he encounters him. The fruit on the border, the lunette shape, as well as the blue background are all hallmarks of the Della Robbia style.
